Shiv Chalisa is designed with privacy at its core. The App does not require you to create an account and does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information such as your name, email address, or location to any server.
Your preferences — such as the selected language, light or dark theme, and onboarding status — are stored locally on your device using secure on-device storage (MMKV). This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third party.
The sacred texts — Shri Shiv Chalisa, Shiv Aarti, and Shiv Tandav Stotram, along with their meanings and translations — are bundled within the App and can be read offline. Reading these does not require an internet connection or send any data anywhere.
The optional "Check for Updates" feature connects to the app store to compare your installed version with the latest available version. This request is used solely to inform you when an update is available and does not transmit any personal information.
If you choose to share the App, the content is handed to your device's native share sheet and the app you select. If you choose to support us via the Sahayog (donation) feature, any payment is processed entirely by your own UPI or payment app — we do not receive, see, or store your payment details.
The App may use vibration (haptic feedback) to enhance taps and interactions on supported devices. It does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, photos, or location.
The App does not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs and does not use cookies for tracking. Links you choose to open (such as the app store or rating page) are governed by the privacy policies of those respective services.
The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. Since the App does not collect personal data from any user, it is inherently compliant with children's privacy regulations and is safe for devotees of all ages.
